"Hello darlings! My name is Bast, Bastet, Baast, Ubasti and Baset, whichever you prefer. I've been worshiped since the Second Dynasty in Egypt and am the daughter of Ra, the Sun God. In the third millennium BC I was regarded as a fierce lioness. I was the protector of Lower Egypt and the pharaoh as well as my daddy, Ra. Because I protect daddy I've been known as Lady of Flame and Eye of Ra.

It wasn't until the first millennium that I was regarded as a goddess to domesticated cats. I can't say it's a demotion or promotion, but it's something. I adore the cat species and watch over them with a protective gaze. My personality resembles the cat quite a bit so be prepared. Some people say I'm not a very nice kitty.

Aside from watching over kitties, I have other job descriptions. Being the daughter of the Sun God I was also regarded as a Sun Goddess in Ancient Egypt, and a Moon Goddess by the Greeks. For my own, self-appointed position, I've now started to deliver messages for Jupiter--or Jove--the leader of the Gods. He's a cool guy, but not really my type. I have a tendency to love on the angels. They're so cute!

I'm famous among Egyptian deities, just so you know. I defeated daddy's enemy, Apep, and saved my daddy from great harm. I love my daddy and no harm shall come to him.
