It didn't hurt, if anything it hurt her more than it hurt him. The real reason for his flinching was because it was so sudden. Was Yin truly this scared of him? Truly this upset that she would wish physical harm upon him? Gabe's head was reeling and his arms dropped to the sides, hurt flickering in his eyes.
He really was sorry, the apologies he was giving were genuine, coming from the heart. If angels even have hearts. That was one of the age old questions, did angels really have hearts? Gabriel knew the answer to this immediately as Yin's arms draped around him, a kiss pressing against the tender spot she had just slapped.
The archangel's forced smile came back into play and he lifted his arms from his sides, curling them around Yin's waist. Now it was Yin's turn to apologize, although Gabriel didn't want her to. She had every right in the world to slap him like she had. Of course, that didn't mean it was the right decision to do so. Slapping archangels was a serious offense. Not like Gabe would actually do anything about it. Michael would have, but Gabriel figured he would have to stop comparing himself to that imbecile.
Him and his brothers were nothing alike.
"Don't apologize." Gabriel whispers, voice cracking. He got down onto his knees and he looked up at her sadly, taking her hand. "its me that should be apologizing. Please. Please. Forgive me." The Trickster placed a kiss on her knuckles.

   Yin found that his begging...was both utterly adorable and depressing. She stared down at him, eyes widening, as he took her hand and kissed her knuckles as if she were some queen. Automatically it made her feel terrible. She let out a breath that shook and blinked the tears from her eyes. He shouldn't be on his knees begging for her forgiveness. No...it was...it was wrong...It was too far...was it? Yin didn't know. She'd never had this before that she could remember. It reminded her of something Isaac would do, and that hurt worse.
The demon shivered and slowly sank to the ground with the Archangel. Any other demon would relish the fact an Archangel was down and begging, but Yin hated it. She didn't want to be above him; she wanted to be on the same, low level. Her fingers trailed across his cheeks and back into his hair and she watched those apologetic hazel eyes of his. Damn the hazel eyes...they were perfect for such sad looks. "D-don't....don't do that...don't beg me...I don't deserve...I..." What was she going to say? Yin stared into those hazel eyes, and she melted. She relented. She couldn't be anger anymore. "It'll be okay...really...it's going to be okay."
Who was she trying to reassure? Him? Herself? Both? Yin didn't know. She stroked his hair and leaned forward to kiss him. It still felt as nice as it had a few hours ago. Yin still felt she wanted more. The demon moved closer to him, arms wrapping around him, and kissed him again. Then she pulled back to where their noses brushed lightly together and managed a small smile. "It'll be okay..." she mumbled again, "Just...just stay with me...I don't want you to go anymore."
It was best to suffer with another than to suffer alone, even when the one you suffered with was the one who'd hurt you.

She was demon? Didn't demons enjoy watching others beg and suffer? But this is Yin. he reminds himself, almost in a scolding way. He wouldn't allow himself to compare Yin to the other demons. She was the most human, non-demonic Crossroads demon he had ever laid eyes on.
No words left his lips, as they hugged and embraced, there simply wasn't any words to be said. Relief rushed through him though, as if a great disturbance had been lifted up off his shoulders. Yin was forgiving him. She wasn't angry anymore. They would be okay. Everything was going to alright now. He wouldn't have to degrade himself and grovel at her feet, pleading for forgiveness.
Gabriel rubbed his nose softly against hers, in a...oh what was it called...an Eskimo kiss? He gave her a small, almost shy peck on the lips before bundling her up in his arms, chin resting on top of her head. "I'm not going anywhere." he assures, running a hand through her hair.
"I promise."
For once in Gabriel's life, he knew, this was a promise he wasn't going to break.
