Gunpoint, really, it wasn’t like she was much of a threat all beat to hell, but if this was the only way she’d get to see Sam then so be it. The ride back to the hotel she kept her mouth shut, biting back sounds of pain at every bump in the road, just keeping her eyes out the window and trying not to think of who was sitting in the seat next to her. The road beyond the window passed and she noted still how strange everything seemed to her mortal eyes. She also, for the hundredth time since she returned, noticed how lonely it was for mortals. The best way she’d have to describe being a demon as opposed to having a demon inside of you is that your mind, while one being, and still had voices that conflicted sometimes. No longer did she hear that dark demon’s voice prompting her to make certain moves or say certain things, the experience of that lifetime showing her how a person will react. She had all of that still but the need to twist and turn it was gone, the drive to ruin people was replaced but guilt and perhaps the personification of it was now driving her towards the one person she felt the worst about hurting. As the hotel came into view her heart beat increased, it was like she could feel Sam close by even though she couldn’t see him yet. Would she be causing him more pain by showing up now? Of course she would and it was unfair to think otherwise. All she knew is she had to do this. Closing her eyes as the car stopped she took a deep breath, wincing as her ribs reminded her why she shouldn’t do that anymore. She then reached for the handle of the door, letting herself out, and then just waited for Dean to step around and collect her, fully expecting to feel his gun in her back as he led her to the hotel door. { made by thesintax @ livejournal, please leave this credit intact }

I set a course for winds of fortune But I hear the voices say Carry on my wayward son There'll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest Don't you cry no more. ---------------------------- Dean didn’t like this at all, it looked bad, it smelt bad and it felt bad but he had decided to give the demon.. no she had said that she was human now, but Ruby or the woman that he had known to be called Ruby had wanted to see Sam, personally he had hope that his brother was going to see sense and shoot her but he didn’t know if it would be something that was going to happen, he had kept a gun on her for the whole journey one wrong movement and she would have been picking up her brains from the sidewalk and he wouldn’t have complained yet he knew that it was something that he owed the fact she was human.
Getting out of the car he was surprised to see Ruby out and waiting for him almost like she had wanted to do it the way that he did, like she was allowing him to get all of his fears and insecurities about her in the forefront of his mind rather than letting them fester that was something that he could appreciate and he had to admit he hadn’t expected it from her. Leading her to the motel he opened the door before putting the gun to her back again.
“In.” He said calmly.

Sam had gotten no calls most of the day, he constantly had been checking but no calls. He was beside himself and had been pacing for a good half hour before considering going out himself and finding Dean. He did feel something strange, not bad strange, but not the good kind of strange either. He grunted in frustration and looked at the screen of his cell again. "Still nothing..." He dialed the number again and it went straight to voicemail again, "Dean it's Sam where are you??? Call me n--" Sure enough he heard the engine of the Impala roaring in the parking lot. He let out a breath of relief and just waited. He heard two doors slam shut, his brow furrowed and he stood just a bit a way from the door.
"About damn time.. Dean? Where have you been?!" But it wasn't Dean who entered first, it was a female and she looked exactly like.."R-Ruby?!" His eyes widened then narrowed in a swift motion before he had a knife pointed straight at her throat. "DEAN!" He shouted over at his brother, "What is this?! Why...how?!" He wanted to, he wanted to end her so badly again for the last time. He had betrayed his own brother and they released complete and utter chaos over his mistakes. Now she was in plain view and he wanted nothing more then to shove the sharpened blade right in to her throat and slice her head clean off.
"Some explanation right now would be nice. What's she doing back?"

She winced as she lifted her chin to expose her neck more, if Sam wanted her dead again who was she to deny him that? Of course she had to fulfill her one promise first, so she simply said to the air. “My Lady, I found him, you can come deliver your message.” Knowing Bast would hear her no matter where she was, those words moving to the Goddess’ ears because she had been waiting to hear them. Then her dark eyes focused on Sam’s, no hatred, no coldness, nothing left of what she was the last time he had saw her. “Human Sam, I’m not a demon, I’m human. The Goddess Bast brought me back to help find you to deliver you a message and give me a chance at redemption, a chance to do the right thing this time around. If that means giving you another chance to kill me then go a head, it’s not like I don’t know what’s waiting for me.” As if to drive the point home a single tear, fell down her cheek, fear that he really was going to sink that knife in or Dean was going to pull that trigger. Either way she honestly didn’t want to die, she knew she didn’t want to live without him but she didn’t want to die yet either. It was to soon, over to fast, she hadn’t even a chance to really see anything of the world again. Her hands were trembling now but she still summoned up the strength she had in reserves and closed her eyes, not wanting to see the look on his face if he really was going to kill her. This nightmare she couldn’t take again. { made by thesintax @ livejournal, please leave this credit intact }

It was at the request of Ruby that Bast appeared. She laughed and spread her arms out wide, "hello my sweethearts!" Her violet eyes flicked from Sam to Dean and the situations they held Ruby in. Bast's head tilted to the side as she sauntered over and grabbed Sam and Dean's arms and easily pushed them away from Ruby. "Now, now dears! Don't you go messing up my messenger when I've come to adore her so. That's very impolite, you know."
Bast gave a small nod to Ruby before spinning on her heels to gaze at Sam. She rubbed her chin thoughtfully and looked him up and down. "Huh...you're not as interesting looking as I thought. You look pretty normal to me. Oh well, Sam Winchester, we need to talk. I've a message for you from my boss, Jove. Actually, I'm sure you either know him as Zeus or Jupiter depending on which mythology you prefer."
The deity flicked out a golden envelope that seemed to shine in the sun. A grin spread across her face at its brilliance. "This is the message...but I don't recommend you touch this envelope. It'll suck the life right out of you. I say we all go sit inside, and possibly have a drink. Yes?"

I set a course for winds of fortune But I hear the voices say Carry on my wayward son There'll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest Don't you cry no more. ---------------------------- Dean sighed at Sam’s reaction this wasn’t helping things at most he thought that Sam would have been half naked asleep, or watching porn he didn’t really care which but the point was now they had Ruby at gun and knife point ok go team if she moved she would be dead but more to the point she hadn’t done anything yet therefore Dean was a little hesitant to kill her. Not that Dean would really complain at the fact that Ruby was dead but right now she was human and she wasn’t causing them a problem long story short she was helpless and they had the power, therefore it didn’t matter what she was she could be killed.
When the woman pushed Dean away he took the gun off of safety and pointed it at the new woman before speaking. “First of all Sammy knife off of the person that we know actually can’t harm us right now considering I exorcised demons and she didn’t even bat an eyelid.” He said calmly “you on the other hand I am getting pretty sick of people just popping into my life and expecting me to take it lying down so I would really like the explination to start about now, and Cas if your big winged ass is around I would really appreciate you dropping in.”

"I was trying to call you for hours Dean, disappearing on me like that wasn't a good idea. And returning with..." His face was a mixture of anger and confusion still as he glanced at Ruby. "I don't even know what to say to this yet."
When another woman appeared practically from thin air he nearly jumped backward that was until he was forced backward. Definitely not a regular female, he came to find out after hearing her speak. "Z-Zeus? Err....Why would I get a message from Zeus?" He gave Dean a searching look and put the knife away and moved to the side so they could all talk indoors properly.
Sam quickly looked away from the envelope and grimaced, "Sure, you read it then if it's that dangerous." After Dean started shouting up a storm he moved back from the three a bit of a distance just in case Castiel really did show up. How much of a mixer was this? A now human Ruby, a goddess, Dean, and now Cas. was possibly going to show up. He kept glancing at Ruby every so often but each time he caught her gaze his eyes narrowed and he quickly looked away.
"Dean calm down now..." He muttered and gave a dark cast look in the direction of the space separating him from the rest.

She moved into the room stiffly, trying to keep her chest somewhat still, not sure what damage those demons had done but the pain was enough to say something wasn’t right. Of course after so long as a demon herself with their enhanced healing abilities it could just be that she just wasn’t used to pain so it could be that wasn’t much of anything. She began to move to Sam’s side, instinctually feeling as if she belonged there, till she noted the cold indifference coming from him. Meeting his eyes just once she lowered her own and moved back against a wall, wrapping an arm about her chest to keep it steady, he didn’t want her, in fact it seemed like he hated her. It was if everyone else had faded away in the room, the woman who once paid attention to every little detail could only feel one other presence there and the gulf of pain and resentment that separated them. The demoness who used to pride herself on being able to talk or kill her way out of any situation was now out of words and fight. Had she really just agreed to come back to have the one man she came back for hate her so deeply? Over the years as a demon she had learned how to hide herself behind a mask of cold indifference, snide remarks and biting wit, but human emotion was so much more complex. Her dark eyes rose to look to Sam again as Dean went on to call Castiel to them. This time though they stayed on Sam just taking him in fully seeing him through the eyes of a human woman. Her own eyes a mixture of pain, grief, and sorrow as she knew exactly what that message said and all she wanted to do was to fill that space between them, tell him that somehow she’d find a way to make this all right, human or not. Hell she had a soul now, maybe she could put it to use for him, five years to save Sam’s life was a deal she’d gladly take. { made by thesintax @ livejournal, please leave this credit intact }

Bast simply ignored the older Winchester. She really didn't give a damn what he thought. She was centered on Sam with her bubbly smile and happy violet eyes. He was the voice of reason out of the two, for sure. The other one was screaming for an angel to come and help out. What could an angel do? Bast wasn't some weak, pitiful thing. All the angel could do is sit there and listen like she wanted them to. Besides, it was something he or she probably wanted to know. It did include the little brother of their precious Michael vessel after all.
"Yeah, I think that's a good idea," Bast purred as her nail lengthened to a claw and she swiped open the golden envelope. She felt like Gabriel right now delivering a golden message. Bast liked him. He was one of the fun angels around these parts. Actually, rumor had it that he was under the disguise of Loki and spotted with a demon. A lot of this wasn't out and about to the other deities, but Bast had a special position. She knew things.
The letter gave off a soft glow as Bast removed it and unfolded it. She read the letter aloud for them all to hear.
"Samuel Winchester, it has come to me in whispers that you are of great importance to Hell. Like your brother's unfortunate position as Michael's vessel you are the true vessel to his rival and younger brother, Lucifer." She didn't pause, but the information shocked her. It wasn't something that Bast had known. She knew she was to keep her mouth shut about this, but she was like a cat. It was going to be difficult not to spread this juicy piece around. "Now that Lucifer is free he is trying to locate you. Sam, Lucifer is still an angel and requires your consent for him to use you. You may say no to him, and continue to do so as long as you wish it. I'm simply informing you before he gets the chance, and offering assistance if ever required. Just call for Bast, and she will deliver your messages to me..." Great. She was going to be put into this. Bast couldn't say if she was pleased about that or not, but orders were orders. "Good luck, Sam. Sincerely, Jove."
The message disappeared as soon as she read the last section. It took on a heavy glow and incinerated right in Bast's hands. She sighed and looked at Sam with a steady gaze. "Well...you heard the man. If you ever need help, then you can call on me. I'll send your message and we'll do what we can. If you need help summoning me..." She gestured to Ruby, "this lovely lady has been a lot of help to me lately. She's a good girl, and now free to do as she wishes. Her job to me is done." She nodded to Ruby and smiled. The deal was over. Ruby was free.

I set a course for winds of fortune But I hear the voices say Carry on my wayward son There'll be peace when you are done Lay your weary head to rest Don't you cry no more. ---------------------------- As the women glared at Dean he simply shrugged he didn’t give a damn what she thought after all the original dicks with wings that had tried to control himself and Sam had made it clear that Dean and Sam where important, therefore there would be no chance of someone trying to kill him because of the fact that he would be needed, more to the point he didn’t care what she had to say either, he had seen angels and demons lie and cheat therefore why would she be any different they didn’t even have any proof that she was who she had claimed to be, just her word and that of Ruby a former demon that now seemed to be human therefore Dean’s trust on the issue was strained at best and it wasn’t something that they would want to push.
When Castiel arrived in the room a moment later he stood behind Dean just watching he had no intention of getting involved if he didn’t have to but he would be there if Dean and to a lesser extent Sam needed him, after all Dean had attempted to trust him dispute what had gone on within the last year and he had tried to make Cas listen to reason rather than being an angel that only followed the path of all the other angels Dean had encouraged him to step out onto his own.
When the woman stopped speaking Dean snorted so now they had not just one religion wanting to be involved in their lives of the roman catholic belief of angels and God, now they had the Greek gods in the form of Zeus wanting to get in on the action also, Dean was getting pretty bored of this because of the fact that he didn’t trust any of these higher powers as far as he could throw them.
“And what is in it for him?” Dean said evenly his tone still not rising above that of a calm talking tone as he didn’t want this to degenerate into an all out war in a hotel room that they would have to ultimately pay for any damages to. “I mean if Jove or Zeus or whatever he wants to go by is so interested in what is happening with us why did he wait for the apocalypse to start before actually making an action? Maybe if he had been actually considerate enough to offer help when we were trying to prevent it from starting in the first place I wouldn’t have angels trying to use my family as god damn meat puppets and before you start don’t start this it was prophesised getting off the rack crap I get that believe me I do but what I am saying is you turn up right after the world starts to go to hell and offer help, Ruby turned up in a blonde puppet when I had a year to live and offered to help I ended up in hell getting gutted daily by Alastair so forgive me for being a little bit cynical in that you want to help us.” ---------------------------- Lyrics: Kansas – Carry on my wayward son Credit: Sammy Tag: None OOC: He hasn’t screamed or shouted.
