Its really good to hear you voice(SAYING MY NAME)The Keeper of the Akashic Record was exhausted. No, he couldn't necessarily be "exhausted" as in wanting sleep, but his vessel required him to sit down and "rest" himself. So, without thinking much on it, Ramiel had wandered into a coffee shop somewhere in New York and taken a seat. It was quieter than usual. New York, New York often was so busy that it was hard to maneuver at all in the city. Ramiel ventured a guess that it had to do something with it being near 3 am in the morning. Even then, it was unnatural for it to be without a decent crowd. It must've just been one of those strange nights figured the Archangel, who placed an order for a cup of hot Earl gray tea. The Archangel disliked the bitter taste of coffee.
When his tea came, Ramiel stirred the warm drink and breathed a sigh of relief. The warmth would soothe him. It was getting chilly outside if he did say so himself. Actually, Ramiel predicted a storm was soon to roll through. That was odd for this time of the year. Ramiel hadn't thought too much into it as he grabbed a tad bit of sugar and added it to his drink. There had been a lot of strange things going on as of late. The reappearance of the Watchers, for one. His stirring momentarily paused as a solemn feeling swelled in his chest. The Archangel had formerly been a Watcher. He'd refused to Fall with his fellow brothers and sisters. It had almost been a shame seeing as he had been their 6th leader. Though, Ramiel had chosen to remain faithful to his other siblings and his Father. Falling was one of his worst fears.
Ramiel briefly wondered if the Watchers hated him. He did, after all, look after the very Record they wanted. That was reason enough to have their toes stepped on. It was unnerving that the first person they may very well come after was him. Whenever he thought of it he shuddered. The last thing he wanted was to see his angry, Fallen siblings again. He loved them, sure, but he did not want to face their wrath.
Then there was a matter of a certain woman he kept running into. Actually, she wasn't even human. Ramiel wasn't sure what to make of her; she was eccentric. The way the two kept spotting each other made Ramiel assume she was following him. That was another issue he wasn't sure how to go about. Ramiel sighed, took a sip of his tea, and decided that things would come together all in due time. His Father was bound to give guidance somehow, even if he was absent from Heaven. He just wanted a sign...any sign...

Need....Coffee.... That was the thought that kept nagging at Chazaqiel as he made his way down the lit streets, hands in his pockets. He wasn't sure just why he had such an obsession with the drink, he just did. Ever since being on Earth it had been the only thing he actually enjoyed drinking and it had steadily became the only thing he ever actually drank.
Chaza finally gave into his weakness and went to his favorite coffee shop that just so happened to be nearby. He knew the people that ran the place, that's how much he had went there. Your going to get smited one of these days, you bloody idiot. he'd tell himself. Your wasting precious time and energy...
But even his own mental scolding couldn't stop him from entering through the doors and waltzing up to the cash register. "The usual dearie?" Chazaqiel nodded. "Thank you, Ma'am." The cashier handed him his favorite, coffee doused in vanilla creamer. The Watcher smiled and blew on it as his eyes scanned for a place to sit.
That's when he saw him.
A smirk spread across his face and he slinked over to Ramiel's table, taking a seat next to him. "Hello there, Ramiel. It's....nice...to see you." His voice sounded a lot more sinister than he had intended and he startled himself. When the hell did my voice get so...evil? Chaza sipped on his coffee, looking at his brother curiously.
Chazaqiel didn't hate his brother, but he was far from liking him. Ramiel had decided that he would be Mister Goody Two Shoes and not fall like the rest of them, and for that Chaza was not very fond of him. But, what Chaza was fond of, was that Ramiel was the "record keeper", which meant he did exactly as his title says. He keeps the records.
The very same records that the Watchers were so desperately trying to get.

Its really good to hear you voice(SAYING MY NAME)And there was the sign...not one he preferred, either. Ramiel started at the sound of a familiar voice as a man took a seat next to him. It had been a long time since he'd last seen him. This wasn't a few simple years, which was a lot to a human, but this was...well...much longer. It was too soon to see him again. Ramiel had nearly choked on his tea he'd been so surprised. The Archangel's head whipped to the side to lay eyes on his brother. His heart began to beat a tad faster and all instincts said he no longer wanted to be here. It was just about time he was leaving, yep, that was what time it was.
"Brother..." He stuttered and subconsciously scooted his chair ever-so-slightly away from the Watcher. He coughed into his hand a few times nervously. "Chazaquiel...it's...been a long time."
The Archangel ran his fingers through his puffy hair and grabbed at it. His body shifted uncomfortably as all systems told him: GO! GO! GO! He did not want to converse with his Fallen brother at this time, not when the Watchers were after the very thing he was sworn to watch. It had occurred to him that he was now prime target number one. The Keeper was who they wanted, wasn't it? They couldn't possibly think of going to the Record without him.
Ramiel began to stand, grabbing his tea as he did and speaking fast, "I'm sorry, brother, but I'm quite busy right now. Can we do this another time? Thanks I'll be going now...!"

Oh no you don't! Chazaqiel set his coffee down and reached out a hand, grabbing Ramiel's and forcing him back into his seat. "Don't be such a bloody wuss." Chaza rolls his eyes, not surprised by his brothers sudden actions. Ramiel, obviously, knew what was up. It was only common sense that Watcher's would be after him. Funny thing though, Chaza had only found him by pure luck and chance. He wasn't actually hunting him down, he was merely wanting a cup of Joe. "Gee, brother, your even more skiddish then I remember." Chazaqiel kept his grip on Ramiel but used his other hand to pick up his cup once more and continue to drink. He would not allow this meeting to ruin his vanilla goodness!Ah. That's better. He set the half empty drink down and cocked his head to one side. "Your a lucky bastard, Rammie." The Watcher licked his lips. "Do you know why?" You should hurt him while you have the chance. Don't be so "nice" to this record keeping ass.
Chazaqiel didn't want to hurt his brother though. As odd as that may seem. Watchers wanted the Akashic Records, not the death of loved ones. So, Chaza resisted his urge of backhanding Ramiel. For the time being, that is. If he were to try to get away, then he'd have to use physical force. He wouldn't like it, but he'd do it regardless.

Its really good to hear you voice(SAYING MY NAME)"EEK!"
Ramiel was jerked straight back into his seat causing his tea to spill some in his lap. No. No. No! Not the pants! Not his tea! The Archangel set the cup down and snatched at the napkins set at the table. He began to scrub at the stain despairingly. If Ramiel was one thing then he was majorly finicky. He couldn't stand things to be unclean or out of order--call him OCD. The fact that his cleanliness was suddenly a tad more important could be considered a little more than unnerving. Ramiel only responded to Chazaqiel again when he commented on his skittish behavior. As if to prove his point, Ramiel jerked in reply and swallowed. The grip that his brother kept on his was not comforting.
"Brother, please, i-if you could release me..." He said and tried to dislodge his hand from Chazaqiel's grip. "There's no need to hold me so tightly, brother."
It was beyond him why the owners of this place didn't notice him struggling. This was obviously a confrontation and a disturbance to their business. Ramiel would've thought they'd break this up, but no, they didn't even bat an eyelash. It was as if the two no longer existed in the store. Ramiel wondered if his brother had something to do with that.
Chazaqiel asked why Ramiel thought he was lucky. He didn't know! The Archangel wasn't sure he'd constitute this meeting as a sign of his 'luck'. "Brother, if you're calling me lucky, then you're beyond me. I haven't an idea why I would be 'lucky' as of this moment. I assume this is...this is some kind of, what do they call it? A rhetorical question, yes?"

Chazaqiel stared at Ramiel blankly. Seriously? "...No...It wasn't rhetorical... " He sighed and loosened his grip on Ramiel a bit, although not letting go entirely. He was sure if he let go his brother would flee, and Chaza did not want to have to explain to the others that he had let the very person they were looking for go.
He knew that conversation would end in smiting. Or more importantly it would end in him getting smited. He might even lose his position as a leader. Oh that would be bad. Very bad. Well..the other possible outcome he could think of was death. That wasn't very appealing either.
"...It seems I'll have to explain why your lucky..." he muttered, staring down at the nail marks on Ramiel's arm where he had just clawed at him to keep him from running. "Your lucky because the others didn't find you and I did."
He looked up from the markings and gave the archangel a small smile. "You see...I'm not going to hurt you...Well....I'm going to try not to hurt you. I'm not sadistic....well...except for that one time..." Oh no, he was getting off track again. Where was I?...Oh yes...
"You see...We need you, Ramiel."
Chazaqiel was stating the obvious. They did need him. They needed him badly. How were they supposed to get their mitts on those records without him? He was key in their mission, a very valuable valuable key. No Ramiel equals the failure of their mission.
Failure, that isn't an option.

Its really good to hear you voice(SAYING MY NAME)Oh, so it wasn't rhetorical. That just meant Ramiel had no idea what his brother was talking about. This was not a lucky situation. This was the last situation that Ramiel had ever wanted to be in. He glanced down at his hand and the markings on it. Ouch. They hurt, but Ramiel tried to keep his wincing to a minimum. He didn't want to seem weak or like a wuss. That would get him even more prodded by his Fallen brother. This was so unlike him. Ramiel remembered the old days when Chazaqiel had his Grace. He had been a better angel back then.
"Brother..." He began, but quieted as he explained why Ramiel was so lucky. The Archangel cringed away from him. He was lucky because the others hadn't found him? Ramiel didn't think he was lucky that Chazaqiel had found him at all. It was unlucky. His quick mind was working fast at a plan of escape. He had to get away from him, and stay away from him. The Archangel thought about asking another brother of his for help, but would they? There were more important things on the planet going on than Ramiel's troubles. Though, Ramiel was fairly important now, too. He was the Keeper, after all. The primary target.
He shifted his position and sighed, "brother, I cannot help you." Ramiel looked at him pleadingly, "please understand that I am a former Watcher, but I am faithful to our Heavenly Father. I would never betray him." He didn't want to get hurt or die, but Ramiel was willing. He knew that if it came down to his death or them getting the Record then it was his death that came first. Ramiel searched for any sign of his old brother in Chaza's eyes. What had become of him? "Brother, you're so different now, I feel. Can't you see that? Please, return to Heaven with me and leave the Watchers! It's possible to repent..." If only he was sure that was true, but it would be their Father who decided that.

Chazaqiel hesitated for a moment, guilt beginning to creep up on him. "D-Don't look at me like that, Rammie!" he frowned, avoiding eye contact with his brother now.Bloody freakin' Hell this is not the time to feel guilty...Don't listen to him...You can't repent. You know this. Change the subject. Change the subject. "You know as well as I do that I can't do that."
What were the chances of him ever being accepted back into Heaven? Chaza was frowned upon back home. Most angels despised the Watchers, and Chazaqiel didn't blame them. He knew he wasn't an 'honorable' angel, not now. He fell, fell hard and there was no changing that fact.
The things I've done...
He 's done things he's not even proud of. Things that define the word 'blasphemy'. There was no way he'd ever go back. But that was okay with him by a long mile. Why would he want to go back to Heaven anyways? The place was filled with nothing but uptight siblings and the constant threat of "don't disobey" looming over your head.
It was like a prison for angels in Chaza's humble opinion.
He took a deep breath and re-postured himself. "Brother...if you refuse to help us..." Chazaqiel says, his free hand tracing the brim of his coffee mug. "They will torture you. If not kill you." The Watcher lifted his gaze back to his brother's.
"Don't be a fool."
He knew his words weren't going to get anywhere with Ramiel. His head's too thick. he scowled mentally, still resisting that constant urge to slap. ...Maybe I will have to hurt him after-all...

Its really good to hear you voice(SAYING MY NAME)Ramiel could see it--the guilt-- he was getting to his brother. Yes, Ramiel grew more intent and leaned somewhat closer to Chazaqiel. It was a window of opportunity for both the Watcher and the Archangel. "Of course you can, Chazaqiel! Anything is possible by the Will of God. I'm sure Father would welcome you back if you truly wanted to return. You could be with all of us again, Chazaqiel, and you could perhaps assist me?"
If there was anything in the world Ramiel could want right now, well, it was to escape, but also for his brother to return. Chazaqiel had not been a bad person when in Heaven. Ramiel had often seen him since their rankings had been so close together--Chazaqiel being the 8th Leader and Ramiel having been the 6th. Only their siblings Daniel had been between them. Ramiel felt he had been closer to the rankings near his own than the others. He certainly felt closer to Chazaqiel than, say, Azazael. It had always been a tad annoying that he and Azazael had been mistaken for the same angel so many times.
Ramiel cringed back at the idea of them hurting him. He didn't like pain, but it hurt more that his siblings would turn on him. He stared back pitifully at Chazaqiel. His vessel's body was shivering, from fright? Or something else? The Archangel couldn't decipher his own feelings right now. "Brother...you'd not really do that, would you? At the very least not enjoy it, I hope! I would never wish to turn violence against you."

Chazaqiel was tense, the rim tracing of his mug turned into a tapping and all he wanted was for Ramiel to shut up. He wasn't appreciating this guilt trip he was having and he was ready to reach over and rip his brother's tongue out. "...You still believe in God..." Chaza laughed, not a lighthearted laugh but a dark one, one that was forced. "Sorry to burst your bubble, brother, but father dearest isn't around anymore."
Chazaqiel believed that their Father had left them. It was only natural that he believed that anyways. Where was he? Certainly not back at home that was for sure. He considered anyone that actually still had faith in God an imbecile. He was long gone. Where exactly Chaza wasn't sure. All he knew was that he wasn't going to be coming back anytime soon.
Trying to make me 'repent under the name of God'...What a joke.
The Watcher raised eyebrows at what Ramiel said next."...Enjoy it?" He pondered that. Did he actually enjoy torturing? Chaza smiled wickedly. Deep down inside he hated it, dreaded it. But he wouldn't allow Ramiel to think that, he knew his brother would only use that against him.
".....I'm going to enjoy every. minute. of tearing your wings apart, brother." His voice wavered a bit and Chazaqiel hoped it sounded convincing. Chaza never was a good liar.

Its really good to hear you voice(SAYING MY NAME)Ramiel did still believe in God. He refused to accept that their Father just left them here. Ramiel was shocked by Chazaqiel's statement, though he should've figured. A lot of the angels were turning this way, even the Fallen. Father had never been gone for so long, and if Father had been around then Lucifer would've never broken free of his cage. If Father were here...then perhaps the Watchers would've never returned, either. Ramiel shook his head of the thoughts. He was still loyal to his Father. He was not on the side of Castiel or Raphael, and he was definitely not on the side of the Watchers. His allegiance forever laid with their Heavenly Father, and He was the only one Ramiel would take orders from. That basically gave him a free rein now that He was gone.
The Archangel watched his brother ponder his question. He didn't believe his brother would enjoy tormenting him. Lucifer didn't even enjoy harming his siblings. What Chazaqiel answered with had to be a lie, but still Ramiel cringed. He leaned back from his brother at the thought of it. Chaza would never torment him, would he?
"Brother, if that's how you feel then I've no choice..."
It was in the blink of an eye. Ramiel's free hand had went into his suit and an Archangel's blade was pressed held at Chazaqiel's vessel's heart. He swallowed hard, his hand shaking, and eyes filled with a distant sorrow. "You forget, Chazaqiel, that I am an Archangel. I never Fell, brother, and I retained my ranking. This blade...if I wanted...this blade could kill you forever."
He watched his brother and adjusted his grip on his blade. Ramiel didn't want things to be like this. He'd never wanted things to be like this, but if they had to be then they did. "Well? What's your choice, brother?"

Chazaqiel released his grip on Ramiel, the sudden appearance of the blade scaring the Hell out of him. He felt so stupid, keeping his guard down around an archangel. This was exactly what he should have expected, but he hadn't, and that was why he was in this situation now.
He's....Going to...Kill me?
Chazaqiel didn't want to die. In fact, it was probably the last thing he wanted. But what was he supposed to do? His brother was obviously stronger than him, it wasn't like he could just yank the blade from him. In fact, Chaza couldn't even run, that was the part that sucked the most.
"...Go ahead..." He mumbles, looking down at the blade at his heart, fear pulsating through him. "Go ahead and kill me. I deserve it anyways, might as well get it over with quick."
Chazaqiel was shocked at how calm the words that came out of his own mouth sounded, if he didn't know better it sounded like he wanted to die. But that wasn't the case at all. Well I suppose a quick death is better than a long painful one.
No, no, no, don't think like that...Don't be such a bloody pessimist... Your not going to die....Not today.
At least, he hoped not today. Chazaqiel could tell by Ramiel's actions that he wasn't wanting to kill his brother. Which, gave the Watcher a small tinge of hope. Perhaps today wasn't his last after-all. ...If I do get out of this alive...I am so going to have to start planning better....

Its really good to hear you voice(SAYING MY NAME)Truth be told, Ramiel was scared to death as he held his blade. The last thing he wanted to do was kill his brother. The very thought made his eyes water. He blinked back the tears; they were a human reaction. Ramiel knew if he cried he was going to have to wipe his glasses, and that'd give Chazaqiel enough time to react. The Archangel slowly stood from his seat. He'd have to leave his tea here, which was a pity. He'd really wanted that tea. There were more important things now, though.
"I'm not going to kill you, brother. I don't want to kill you, but I will protect the Record from you."
The Archangel stepped back slowly from the Watcher. It was obvious this pained him. Ramiel could not hide how much this hurt. If only Chazaqiel hadn't Fallen. The two of them could still be friends. Now it just seemed impossible.
"I love you, brother, but we cannot see each other again. I'm afraid if we do then it'll result in the death of one of us."
With that said, Ramiel vanished.
